I am lecturer in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia and teach two courses relate to the satellite design to undergraduate student. I am also a researcher in Space System laboratory. My current research is focus on development of small satellite and a system for high altitude balloon. I am actively involved in outreach activities to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic (STEM) education among secondary and primary student using space technology. The CLTP has the entire element of spacecraft design that should me as participant learn and apply to my class, my research and my outreach program. Since, the resources in term of training in Malaysia are limited, this is the great opportunity to gain more knowledge and hand-on experience in developing a satellite system.
CLTP was the first satellite training program that provides me the hands-on experience. This approach gave better understanding in the cycle of development of satellite. The instructor and his assistants really help me throughout the training and I've learned the correct approach in solving any problem relates to this development work specifically in logical thinking to troubleshoot the problem. I have also got the opportunity to meet new friends from other countries and learn something from them.
CLTP is the place for you to learn and experience of satellite development and enjoy the diversity and companionship with other participants from various countries.
